Dans la campagne proche d’Arras, Gabin, benjamin de la famille Jourdel est destiné à reprendre la boucherie de son père. Mais il a d’autres rêves : dresser une vache de concours, devenir éleveur canin, sauver la ferme de sa mère. De 8 à 18 ans, le film suit son parcours vers l’âge adulte. Un film juste et touchant sur l’héritage, la transmission et l’émancipation.

In the countryside near Arras, Gabin, the youngest of the Jourdel family, is expected to take over his father’s butcher shop. But he dreams of other paths: training a prize cow, becoming a dog breeder, saving his mother’s farm. Following him from the age of 8 to 18, the film charts his journey into adulthood. A tender and perceptive film about inheritance, legacy and emancipation.
