SYNOPSIS
1542. Enceinte d’un autre homme que son futur époux, commandant d’une expédition au Canada, la jeune Marguerite de la Rocque est abandonnée sur une île déserte au large de Terre-Neuve avec sa suivante et l’homme qui a abusé d’elle. Elle y restera presque trois ans, défiant la nature hostile, la faim et le désespoir grâce à son courage et à son ingéniosité.

SYNOPSIS
1542. Pregnant by a man other than her future husband—the commander of an expedition to Canada—young Marguerite de la Rocque is abandoned on a deserted island off Newfoundland with her maid and the man who abused her. She will endure nearly three years there, defying the harsh wilderness, hunger, and despair through her courage and ingenuity.
