1903. Pierre and Marie Curie are awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. Shortly afterwards, Pierre dies in a tragic accident, leaving his wife alone with their two children. Undaunted, the scientist continues her research work in a world dominated by men. She becomes the first woman to receive the title of Professor at the Sorbonne, but her affair with the physicist Paul Langevin causes a scandal and threatens her career.
