Foster family, care home, special school: wherever Benni goes, expulsion always follows. A difficult parental background and an early-childhood trauma have left deep scars on this smart but rebellious little girl, just nine years old, who wants just one thing: to go back to live with her mother, where there is no place for her. Social services struggle, but to no avail until the day when hope seems to take shape.
