Two retirees, Nina and Madeleine, had been deeply in love with one another for more than twenty years. To outside eyes, including Madeleine's family, they are nothing more than neighbours living on the same floor of an apartment block. In their everyday lives, they come and go between the two apartments. One day, something happens and barriers come down between them. Wrenched apart from Madeleine, Nina will do all she can to get close to her.
