1936. Miguel, a young Catholic priest, is assigned to his first parish. But the Civil War soon breaks out and the village falls into the hands of the Nationalists. From that point onwards, he defies his superiors by standing up against the pitiless repression inflicted upon the Republicans and their families. In that troubled time, he tries to uphold his faith and his ideals, even placing his own life in peril.
