9 April 1940, the German army invades Norway without having declared war and disregarding its neutrality. Confusion and chaos quickly spread. With Hitler's blessing, the leading fascist Quisling is ready to seize power. But the Norwegian royal family refuses to bow to the will of the Germans. Having fled Oslo, King Haakon VII is called upon to abdicate. His decision will prove decisive for the future of his country.
