In 1990s Romania, 15-year-old Gabriel enters a seminary with the ambition of becoming a priest. Confident and full of hope, he soon comes up against the bullying of the older students, their little pranks, and against the often abusive methods of the teachers. In this unscrupulous world in which piety and faith are nothing more than an illusion, he will have to learn how to survive through lies, deceit, theft and betrayal.
