In an isolated village in Connemara, Gerry Boyle is a grumpy and phlegmatic Garda officer, a touch racist, who uses highly unorthodox methods to uphold the law. His ordered and peaceful life is turned upside down when he is forced to work with a strait-laced FBI agent, of Afro-American origin, to dismantle a drug trafficking ring.
