SYNOPSIS

SYNOPSIS
In 1949, sixteen years after fleeing Nazi Germany, Thomas Mann returns to his homeland with his daughter Erika. Driving a Buick from Frankfurt to Weimar, they cross a country in ruins, now divided between American and Soviet zones, where the wounds of the past collide with the tensions of the Cold War. An elegant and moving historical road movie.
