1930s Rome. The married daughter of an exiled anarchist, Libera despises Fascism. One May Day, she is accused of provocation for dressing in red with her two children, Anna and Carlo. The whole family is forced to move to the provinces but, once there, Libera soon comes to notice for her virulence and she ends up joining the resistance movement.
