Single mother Alice is a plant geneticist working for a company specialising in the development of new plant species. She has designed a flower with the power to make its owner happy. Alice breaks the company rules when she gives one of these flowers to her teenage son, Joe. But as the plant grows, Alice starts to have doubts about her creation: perhaps this plant isn't so harmless after all.
