The film director Elia Suleiman flees Palestine in search of a new host country, before realising that his country of origin continues to follow him, like his shadow. The promise of a new life is rapidly transformed into absurd comedy. No matter how far he travels, from Paris to New York, something always reminds him of his homeland.
