Synopsis

At the turn of the twentieth century, life is hard in Northern Italy. To escape their wretched existence, the Ughetto family cross the Alps and start a new life in France. The film-maker tells his family’s story through the medium of small puppets, presenting us with a remarkable film on memory, infused with poetry, humour and emotion, that will delight cinema-goers of all ages.
