starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz

In the early eighteenth century, England is at war with France. The capricious and volatile Queen Anne sits on the throne, but it is her friend, Lady Sarah Churchill, who wields power in her stead, all the while tending to the sovereign's poor health. The arrival of Sarah's cousin, Abigail, who has lost her noble title, will gradually change the situation. The young woman is ambitious and seems prepared to go to any lengths to regain her position.
